BIRTH CONSULTANCY DOULA TRAINING

‘bringing community back to childbirth’

At Birth Consultancy we believe that the role of the doula is a way of life, a way of being, and that the journey of the new doula is as much about personal self-development as about furthering her knowledge and skills to work as a lay birth or postnatal supporter.

Our philosophy embraces the spirituality of childbirth and aims to promote emotional wellbeing through pregnancy, to encourage gentle birth, and to support breastfeeding and positive parenting. We prepare new doulas to develop self-awareness and a reflective attitude, to listen without judgement and to nurture pregnant and labouring women, new mothers and their families with sensitivity and commitment.
